CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A young girl's dream to show her goat named Gary at the upcoming Nueces County Jr Livestock Show in a few weeks may be put on hold.

13 year old Bianca Harris' show animal has been attacked by a pack of loose dogs in her neighborhood, leaving the goat with several puncture wounds and an injured leg.

It happened Monday morning on the 300 block of Merrill Drive off of Old Robstown Road. The dogs were able to dig under the fence and get into the family's backyard and attack the goat. Animal Control was called, but could not round up the pack of dogs as they kept hiding under a home.

The family took the goat to the vet, but they are now waiting to see if it will heal in time for the show. On the line, possibly thousands of dollars if the goat sells at auction. Money, Bianca was hoping to use for her college education.
