More than 450 beauty contestants will be getting their hair and nails done for this weekend's shows at the San Patricio Fairgrounds in Sinton, and all of the contestants are dogs!

The Corpus Christi Kennel Club is hosting its 70th annual Dog Shows at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, which will include more than 100 breeds from all over the country. The Kennel Club encourages people of all ages to go out to the free event.

"Everybody loves dogs. They are so friendly," the Kennel Club's Barbara Beynon said. "We just all grew up with dogs. Whether they are purebred or they are mixed breeds, everybody loves dogs. I love mixed breeds, too."
