Gubernatorial Candidate Wendy Davis Visits the Coastal Bend

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Senator Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, made a stop in Corpus Christi on Friday as part of her campaign for Texas governor.

Davis visited the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She said the Center is like others across the state that are helping to make small businesses stronger.

"I'm here today to visit one of the innovative partnerships that we see across the state of Texas helping to create early investment in growing business, and  supporting the kind of economic vibrancy that we want to see in Texas," Davis said.

Davis became known around the country after staging a filibuster against the sweeping new abortion restrictions in Texas. It was a battle she ultimately lost. Those restrictions later became law.

Davis is running against Ray Madrigal in the Democratic primary for Texas Governor.
