CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Corpus Christi Police Department is hosting a town hall meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday to discuss with residents the recent attempted kidnapping that took place on Padre Island Wednesday.

A 13-year old boy told police that he was walking home Wednesday evening when two men in a truck approached him and demanded that he get into their vehicle, threatening to rape him if he did not comply.

It happened on Hawks Nest Bay Drive near Three Fathoms Bend on Padre Island. The men were driving a silver Ford F-150 and were described as two Hispanic males in their mid-40s.

Detectives with the CCPD's Child Crimes Unit will be on hand at the meeting, which will be held at the Seashore Middle Academy at 15437 SPID, to discuss the incident and offer tips on keeping your children safe.
