Powerful Winds from Cold Front Uproot Trees Overnight

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

If you were outside last night whenever the cold front blew in, you had to have felt the power of the wind.

Mother Nature felled a tree on Agnes and South Brownlee, leaving the tree leaning on power lines. Luckily, it didn't appear to be affecting anyone's electricity on that side of town.

Just down the road at Leopard and Villa Drive, however, it was a close call for a homeowner after a tree appeared to be uprooted by the overnight winds. The homeowner said she was in show as she was notified by her neighbor that the tree fell just moments before she arrived home Friday morning.

"Thank goodness it wasn't in the street and it didn't hit my neighbor's house or my house," homeowner Lisa Hernandez said.

Hernandez said she is going to get a couple of local tree guys to take care of the mess.
