CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A Corpus Christi man is being treated for hypothermia after he was trapped in a drainage ditch for hours after his vehicle overturned around midnight Tuesday.

Officers arrived at Comal Street, near Lantana and I-37, and found the victim. Investigators said he attempted to turn around but got his sport utility vehicle stuck on its side in a ditch. Water rushed in, surrounding the man up to his waist.

Emergency crews rushed the man to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital for care. Officers said alcohol was not a factor.
