Steinbruck Hired as New Bluff FB Coach

Posted: Updated:

Corpus Christi (kiii sports)- Longtime Flour Bluff assistant coach and Defensive Coordinator Chris Steinbruck has been hired as the Hornets' new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.

Steinbruck is a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who is considered one of the top defensive coaches in the area by many of his peers. He takes over for close friend and mentor Darrell Andrus, who left the Bluff earlier this month to take over the coaching reins at his alma mater, Jourdanton.

Steinbruck will take over a team that will lose nearly half its players to graduation in May, but the returning starters include several key skill players. In addition, Flour Bluff is installing artificial turf this spring.

Chris, who is married and has four children, spent the past several years as head track coach for the Hornets. No word yet on whether he will pass those duties on to another member of the Flour Bluff coaching staff.
