CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The man accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from CASA of the Coastal Bend appeared in the 319th District Court Friday morning to request a bond reduction.

Andrew Leo Pena, 21, appeared before Judge David Stith just after 9 a.m., but his request for a bond for his most recent case was denied.

That case involved the burglary of the CASA building that took place in the early-morning hours of Monday.

Pena was on probation for a previous charge of burglary of a habitation. A request to lower that bond was denied. Judge Stith increased bond in the case involving CASA from $10,000 to $50,000.

Pena is accused of stealing and vandalizing thousands of dollars worth of equipment at the local CASA building. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a woman who had been letting him stay in her home discovered the stolen goods in the bedroom he was staying in.
