Corpus Christi Police Officers Help Build Ramp for Fellow Officer Recently Injured in Motorcycle Accident

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local Corpus Christi officer was involved in a motorcycle accident and it left him and his wife seriously injured.

Saturday local police officers came together to make life a little easier for them after their injuries. The injured officer was on his motorcycle with his wife when they were involved in an accident a few weeks ago.

Luckily they were both wearing their helmets and the helmets saved their lives. Now the officer and his wife are both in wheelchairs. That is why fellow officers came together to build them a ramp at their home.

Lt. Art Trevino with CCPD told 3 News, "the brotherhood of the officers, we all decided to pitch in to buy the lumber and everyone volunteered to come up and build the ramp so they could have easy access to the house."

Officers completed the ramp with in a few hours.
