Falfurrias Community on Edge After First Reported 8-Liner Robbery

Posted: Updated:
FALFURRIAS (Kiii News) -

The community of Falfurrias is on edge after masked gunmen robbed an 8-liner game room Tuesday night in the 800 block of East Rice.

Kiii News Reporter Mike DaSilva went Live from that game room with more details.

It was around 10:30 p.m. went police say five masked gunmen entered the game room and ordered everyone inside to get on the floor and empty their pockets. About 10 customers were inside at the time. When the customers complied, the gunmen used bolt cutters to break open some 32 game room machines and took the currency from inside. They also took the customers' belongings.

Police said the whole thing happened in the span of about 10 minutes.

The Falfurrias City Manager and other sources said it's not the first time a game room in the city has been robbed, and that the owners of the game rooms just haven't reported the other incidents to police out of fear their businesses would be shut down. It is, however, the first game room robbery that has been reported to police.
