CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

If you were traveling around town on Friday and noticed a lot of people wearing red, there's a reason -- it's all in an effort to support the fight against heart disease.

Friday is Wear Red for Women Day, a campaign by the American Heart Association to raise awareness for the fight against heart disease in women. One local business is getting into the spirit of the day.

"This year it has more importance for us because in Oct. 1, I had a heart attack, died and was revived," said Bill Lathrod of B.C. Equipment Sales.

From the office staff to the employees out in the shop, even the babies were supporting the cause.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women and men. One in four women die of heart disease, according to the American Heart Association.
