Home Invasion on City's Southside

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Corpus Christi Police Officers are investigating a home invasion on the Southside of Corpus Christi.  It happened right around 7:30 Saturday night on the 7200 block of Ridge Creek which is near Cedar Pass. 

At this point, the resident has told police that 2-3 men forced their way into the home.  One woman was home at the time but was uninjured.  The men got away in a white four door vehicle.  Its unknown what was taken from the home.  Police are currently investigating.

    Portland Teacher Remembered as a Wonderful Person and Educator

    A wonderful person and someone who will be dearly missed, that is how the community of Portland is remembering a well known elementary school teacher who passed away following a battle with cancer. 40 year old Elke Johnson Smith was a teacher at East Cliff Elementary. Students made a makeshift memorial in front of the school where they left flowers and messages. Johnson-Smith taught kindergarten and even held the title of teacher of the year.
