CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

We have an update on those cold-stunned turtles that turned up this weekend. The number of cold stunned sea turtles that they found Saturday has since increased after our newscast aired. According to the Padre Island National Seashore Biologist, they totaled out Saturday with 131 cold stunned turtles that were found along the Texas coast.

Most were found here on the South Texas Laguna Madre, and Saturday was said to be one of their busiest days so far.

All of these turtles will be taken to a facility for rehab.

The turtles will be released when the weather warms up.

Since we first began to see cold turtles show up in November, a total of 965 cold stunned turtles have been found.

Of the ones found on Saturday, unfortunately fourteen turtles were found dead.
