Man Arrested for Graffiti Vandalism and Warrants

Police say he was caught red-handed.

One man is arrested and taken to the Detention Center after he was busted leaving an abandoned building that smelled of paint fumes and the man was said to have a car full of spray paint cans.

Senior Officer Victor Casares said, "as we were coming, it was leaving. We stopped it and discovered the driver had warrants and after doing inventory we found it had paints he had been doing graffiti inside the building."

27 year old Stephen Contreras was arrested and is facing several charges after he was caught leaving one of the abandoned buildings back behind Bill Witt Park just off of Yorktown.

CCPD officers are investigating to see if he is connected to any other graffiti tagging cases.
