Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, but the owners of one local gift shop preparing for the big day showed up to work Monday to find the scene of a burglary.

Heavenly Designs owner Jose Melchor showed up to his shop in the 4900 block of Holly Monday morning and found it broken into. The cash register and jewelry were missing.

Even though the burglary definitely put a dent in their business, Melchor said he is still grateful.

"I am just happy that nothing happened," Melchor said. "Nobody got hurt. I am good and we are ready to go, and only the Lord knows why this happened."

The owner said despite the break-in, they will be ready for business on Friday.

If you have any information regarding this crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
