CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

An alarming number of home invasions that happened over the weekend have police on alert.

One of those invasions took place in the 7200 block of Ridge Creek Drive on Saturday night. An 18-year old man and his 87-year old grandmother were inside the home at the time. They told police that three men with bandanas over their faces kicked open the front door and held the two hostage. They took the 18-year old's cell phone and wallet.

As you can imagine, neighbors are on edge.

"Because that kind of stuff you hear about on the news all the time, but it doesn't happen to your neighbors, so yeah, it's kind of frightening," neighbor Mikki Spruce said.

Police are still on the lookout for the three suspects. They got away in a white four-door vehicle.

Then, on Sunday there was another home invasion in the 6000 block of Horizon Drive, near Corn Products Road and Leopard.

The 24-year old homeowner told police that two men kicked open the front door to the home, pointed a gun at him and proceeded to steal $1,200 worth of electronics. The men got away in a gray Nissan Altima.

If you have any information regarding either of these robberies, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
