With a fresh strategic direction and newly launched website, The Miles Foundation enters 2014 energized and ready to bring innovative programming to North Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Since its inception in 1997, The Miles Foundation ("the Foundation") has worked tirelessly to honor the life and legacy of its founder and World War II hero Ellison Miles. Today, after years of growth and community leadership, the Foundation announces the release of its first annual report.

The 2013 report reflects on past funding successes, while also introducing the philosophy that has helped evolve the Foundation's core giving areas – Education, Economic Opportunity and Leadership Development. With a clearly defined grantee market, the Foundation believes it will be able to maximize its resources, better facilitate its grant recipients' success, and help to make a lasting impact on the North Texas community.

"As one of the younger foundations in Dallas-Fort Worth, we are excited to bring an innovative perspective to how foundations can partner with grantee organizations and make a difference," said Grant Coates, Chief Executive Officer for The Miles Foundation. "We are not sitting complacently with the gift Ellison Miles gave us. We're motivated to make strategic investments and support grants that fulfill Mr. Miles' dream of enabling our community to thrive."

To this end, the Foundation will be focused on various leadership initiatives over the next year, collaborating with existing leaders to promote change, and working with forward-thinking organizations and individuals to encourage civic duty among the leaders of the future.

"We at The Miles Foundation want to offer more when it comes to partnering with our grantee organizations," Jay McCall, Senior Programs Officer, stated. "We want to offer our grantee partners all of the resources we have available to us, help them to see measurable results, and ultimately, share in our collective success."

One way the Foundation plans to tout its successes is through the updated website it recently unveiled. With a fresh new look and easy-to-navigate functionality, the Foundation blends the story of its rich history with current news, grantee project updates, and detailed information on how to partner with the Foundation on its current and future initiatives. The Foundation aspires to continue improving its new website platform in order to increase interactivity among its visitors.
