CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

At the Island University, faculty showcased their musical talents this weekend all in a benefit for students. Yesterday was the third act of a four-part series musical concert. Professors performed to raise scholarships for music majors. This year's theme is: The "British are Coming."

"Flute and euphonium and string instruments. A great variety of instruments and just a little something for everybody. Baroque music to contemporary music," said Dr. Diana Sipes, Chair at the Island University's Department of Music.

Dr. Sipes says last year's concert series raised $5,000 for music scholarships. The next concert series is March 23 at 3 p.m. The theme will be "Fiesta Latina."
