CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Corpus Christi police served an arrest warrant at around 10 a.m. Monday for the suspect in the Sunday night shooting on Laguna Shores in Flour Bluff, which left one woman dead.

According to police, it was Crime Stoppers tip that was called in Monday morning that led them to the suspect, 29-year old Jesse Lee Perales. Officers set up a staging area at the Katz 21 Steakhouse near the Veranda apartment complex at Staples and Saratoga, where they believed the suspect was located.

The Corpus Christi Police Department's SWAT Team was called out as a precaution, but that call was later canceled after the suspect gave himself up without any struggle.

It was around 9:45 p.m. Sunday when police were called out to the 3200 block of Laguna Shores, near Caribbean, on reports of a shooting incident, which they believe stemmed from a domestic disturbance over a child. When they arrived on the scene, they found 28-year old Krystal Perales with multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

Krystal was gunned down just outside of her home. She was a mother of four.

On Saturday, Krystal posted "I don't think I'll ever be the same... Today has been a world of hurt," on her Facebook page. Then, 24 hours before she was killed, she posted this: "I can't deal with today."

Neighbors who wanted to remain anonymous said they heard an argument and saw a man fighting with a woman in the backyard. They also said they believed the man was the father of some of Krystal's four children.

Police said Krystal suffered several gunshot wounds to the head and later died from those injuries at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.

One neighbor said police had been out to the house in Flour Bluff recently.

"There was a police officer here a couple of days ago, but I don't know what that was about," neighbor Greg Baehr said.

Police said detectives worked throughout the night to try and locate a suspect. That was before they got an early break Monday morning.

"A Crime Stoppers tip came in and had the information that we needed," said Captain Mike Alanis of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "That information was relayed to our officers in the field, who then were able to locate the suspect in the 6400 block of South Staples earlier this morning. He was taken into custody without incident."

After being questioned by detectives, Jesse Lee Perales was taken to the City Detention Center, where he spoke to 3News.

When asked if the shooting was over custody of the kids, Perales replied, "So my kids grow up good, man."

"Without a mom?" our reporter asked.

"**** their mom," Perales said.
