Locals Gather to Roast Coastal Bend Leader

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

At the Omni Hotel, residents gathered to honor the work of an area leader. Leadership Corpus Christi held their 6th Annual Roast Fundraiser last night. Ken Treviño, President and CEO of Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend was the roastee. Treviño is a graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi, a non-profit that promotes economic development and growth in the Coastal Bend. Cecil Johnson, co-chair, says there is no better way to honor Treviño than to make fun of him.

"You know Ken is the mild mannered CEO by day, but at night he is superman," said Cecil Johnson, Co-Chair. "He does so much for this community. He has given back so much of his time and without any reward for it."

"I'm just really excited about tonight," said Ken Treviño. "What an honor for me and my family to be roasted by the community."

Money raised at the roast benefits student scholarships. Visit lccalumni.com if you would like to become a part of the next leadership class.
