Council Approves Lease Agreement for Buc Days Events

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Corpus Christi City Council approved Tuesday the lease agreement for the 2014 Buccaneer Day Festival and related activities.

This clears the way for the use of city property along Shoreline Drive for the Buc Days carnival and the Illuminated Night Parade.

The scholarship dinner will kick off the related events on April 3, followed by the Ranch Rodeo on April 12 and Rodeo Week at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown on April 19. That event will run through the opening of the carnival on April 24.

Buc Days President Barry Box said now is a good time to get your tickets.

"The reason to buy early is to get the choice seats, because usually our lower-level and VIP box seats go pretty quickly," Box said. "Right now, we do have a couple of boxes left, I think, for all nights, and we expect that probably by the middle of March it will probably be sold out. And the rest of the tickets are available.

Box said tickets are available for all events at TicketMaster.com and BucDays.com.
