Car Wash Teller Machine Stolen from Flour Bluff Stripes Store

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A car wash teller machine stolen from a Stripes convenience store in Flour Bluff overnight Friday was found submerged in the water near the 100 block of Jester Saturday morning.

According to Lt. John Hooper of the Corpus Christi Police Department, the machine was taken from the car wash associated with the Stripes store in the 10000 block of SPID, at the corner of Waldron. It was the kind of machine used to select and pay for a car wash of your choice.

Someone managed to rip it out of the ground and transport it to the 100 block of Jester Street, where it was found completely submerged in the saltwater by Dimmitt Pier. Unfortunately, because the machine was submerged, police say they will be unable to lift any fingerprints.

The owner of the machine was notified of its location so they could recover it, but it was still out near the water on Jester Street Monday morning.

Police also said no surveillance footage of the crime is available.

If you have any information about this crime, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
