ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

Highway 77 had to be shut down for some time Tuesday morning after an 18-wheeler crashed into a concrete wall near County Road 44 in Robstown.

It was around 2 a.m. when investigators say the big rig struck the side of the highway overpass wall at County Road 44 and Highway 77 in Robstown. The 18-wheeler flipped on its side and spilled diesel fuel all over the road.

"It did break the concrete wall, but bounced back onto the highway," said Officer Filiberto Tagle of the Robstown Police Department.

Luckily, the driver walked away with minor injuries.

Investigators say the cause of the crash is unknown, but slippery conditions did  exist at the time of the accident.
