Couple Hit by Jeep, Victim Shoots at Suspect

Police are investigating an incident where two people were run over early Sunday morning on the city's southside. The suspect is still on the loose. The incident happened at around 6:50 Sunday morning.

The first call they got was of shots fired at the Stoneleigh Apartments on the 5700 block of Curtis Clark.  When officers arrived they found a different scene. According to police, a man and woman -- had been hit by a vehicle.

The man then fired at the suspect's vehicle.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The two people were taken to the hospital.

Police tell us they believe the victims are boyfriend and girlfriend.  Police say the suspect was the ex-husband or boyfriend of the female victim.

Officers later found the suspect's vehicle on Wooldridge next to a body shop on a dirt road.  The vehicle has bullet holes to the front end and even blood on the front of it.

It is believed that the victims' injuries are non-life threatening.
