Man Arrested Following Shots Fired in CC Neighborhood

Tense moments for one neighborhood after a series of gunshots are fired. Police had to block off the 3600 block of Harris Drive, near Brawner Parkway and Carroll Lane. Officers blocked the area off to collect shell casings. The shots rang out just before 1PM Monday afternoon off of Harris and Willow Street.

According to police, Henry Martinez, 45, fired gunshots in the air and at a car, but police say no one was injured. After firing the shots, police say the suspect tried to flee the scene on foot, but was found just a quarter of a mile away. Police say they learned of his whereabouts from some alert witnesses.

"We were able to through the phone calls from the citizens, we were able to get a good direction of travel and, 45 year old male was found at Herndon and Staples and found to have a weapon in his possession," says CCPD LT. James Gray.

Officers believe the suspect was under the influence of some type of substance at the time of the shooting. Martinez has been arrested and charged with deadly conduct and firearms and weapons discharge.
