"Drug Facebook Page" Remains Active Despite Illegal Activity

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

3 News has learned the Facebook page where alleged illegal drugs can be bought and sold will not be taken down. 3 News first reported on the Facebook posts in January after a concerned parent filed a complaint. In response, the social media network says, "we've reviewed the group you reported for containing drug use and found it doesn't violate our community standards." Corpus Christi Police say they are aware of the sites. District Attorney Mark Skurka also wants to warn those people who are writing such posts.

"There's ways to find out who owns Facebook accounts and or where they live. So, I would be very cautionary if I was engaged in this activity cause there may be a way they can track you down," said Skurka.

Skurka adds that investigators are using the same tactics to catch online drug dealers.
