Corpus Christi Couple Arrested for Unlawful Restraint of a Girl

A Corpus Christi couple was taken to the Nueces County Jail Wednesday and given bond of $175,000 each. They were charged with holding a child against her will.

Robert Smith, 46, and his wife, 49-year old Patricia Smith, were arrested Wednesday on a long list of charges, including unlawful restraint of a child, tampering with lawful evidence and retaliation.

3News learned that the victim was the couple's son's pregnant girlfriend. According to sources, the teen allegedly beat up the girl and then the boy's parents, according to the arrest affidavit, would not let the girl leave their house.
