CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A 35-year old man was arrested for reckless driving Wednesday afternoon after a Corpus Christi police officer saw him driving on the SPID access road at a higher rate of speed than freeway traffic.

According to police, it was around 4 p.m. when an officer driving on SPID spotted a blue Nissan Altima speeding down the access road, motioning aggressively through traffic. The officer exited the freeway and initiated a traffic stop.

After the driver fled for a short distance, he eventually came to a stop. The officer arrested 35-year old John Jewel for reckless driving, evading arrest in a vehicle and driving with a suspended license. His vehicle was impounded and he was taken to the City Detention Center.
