CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local carpet layer is looking for help from the community after his equipment was stolen in an overnight theft.

Surveillance footage showed the crime in progress. The man's work van was parked outside of his home on Sarita Street, near Horne and Greenwood. In the video, you can see a man in a truck break into the work van and steal various items.

It turns out, the crook got away with nearly $3,000 worth of equipment.

Jorge Saldana discovered the break-in Monday morning when he was about to head to work.

"I spent a lot of money on my tools. These people, in just a couple of minutes, took everything," Saldana said. "All this week, I'm going to have to cancel all of my jobs. There's more money there. It's not only that, it's the whole rest of the week."

If you recognize the thief in this video, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
