Traveling Minister Preaches Controversial Message at TAMUCC

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

It was quite the scene at the campus of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Tuesday as a traveling minister made an appearance.

"Campuses are inundated with sin," said Brother Matt, a minister from Missouri. "Sin from that separates man from God, and that's the issue."

Brother Matt is in the Coastal Bend area this week speaking on local college campuses. On Tuesday, he was in front of the Hector P. Garcia statue at TAMUCC. Campus police were nearby to make sure the minister or those watching him preach didn't get out of hand.

Some students said they aren't fans of Brother Matt, and called his message negative and controversial. That message included telling students that they are going to Hell if they smoke or wear revealing clothing.

The traveling minister plans to continue his preaching on Wednesday, either at TAMUCC or Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
