BEEVILLE (Kiii News) -

Tino Wallenda, a very talented circus performer and tightrope walker from the world famous Flying Wallendas is visiting South Texas.

Wallenda is in Beeville this weekend as part of a fundraiser for the First Baptist School.

Wallenda has been tightrope walking for 56 years. He started at the age of seven, and his family has been performing in the circus for almost 200 years. Despite all that experience, he said he is still in the process of mastering tightrope walking.

He says the key is focus.

"We never train even how to fall, we train expressly, specifically, to stay on that tightrope, because most of it is in your head. In your mind," Wallenda said. "So if you train, you train to fall, that's what's going to happen, and that's kind of a great analogy for life, because if you train to slip and to fall, you're not going to be a success."

Wallenda will be giving an inspirational speech from a tightrope on Sunday morning at the First Baptist Church of Beeville. The event starts at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
