CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Giving children a chance to read, one free book at a time! Saturday was the annual "Half Pint Library Day" and book drive. It took place over at the Half Price Books Store in Moore Plaza.

The books are given to children and teens who may not have a book of their own.

Debbie Douglas with Half Price Books told 3 News, "some of them will go into school libraries. School districts that may not possibly have as much money as others and they build class room libraries. A lot of them do go to children and families so they do have books to read."

We're told they handed out about 7500 books Saturday!

The people over at Half Price Books encourage everyone to donate their used books as they use those donated books to give to children all year round!
