CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A man is rushed to the hospital after he was stabbed while waiting in line at a convenience store. It happened inside a Valero on the corner of Greenwood and Horne around 1:30 Saturday afternoon.

Crime scene investigators spent the afternoon gathering evidence.  Officers say the victim was stabbed about 8 times with what appeared to be a kitchen knife while he stood in line inside the store.  The suspect then fled the scene.

Police say the victim was at the counter paying for his items and the suspect appeared to start stabbing him from behind.  The man who was stabbed was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial and is said to be in stable condition tonight.

Just before our 6 o'clock news, we learned police arrested the 19 year old suspect at an apartment complex.  His name is Donnie Flanders.

No word on exactly what charges he now faces.
