Seven people were transported to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital after two vans collided around noon Thursday at the intersection of Highway 44 and FM 3386. One driver has been confirmed dead.

According to first responders, a van was traveling south on FM 3386 and the other was traveling west on Highway 44. Six people were in the westbound vehicle. All of them, along with Silvas, were transported to the hospital.

Traffic on Highway 44 has been backed up following the accident as crews work to clear the road. Use caution if you are in the area.
