Alice Officials Seek Grant to Build Transportation Facility

Posted: Updated:
ALICE (Kiii News) -

There are plans underway in Alice to build a transportation facility to handle the increased transportation needs in that region.

On Thursday, an interlocal agreement between the project's partners was signed at the Chamber of Commerce in Alice. The partners are seeking a $10 million grant from the Department of Transportation. If granted, the facility would be built on the west side of town, near the Multiuse Complex, which is going up quickly.

The mayor of Alice said the $15.3 million natatorium and leisure pool could be open by December. There has been no word on when the hotel, conference center and amphitheater will be finished.
