Toyota is expected to announce Monday that it is moving its U.S. sales and financial services headquarters from suburban Los Angeles to suburban Dallas.

The deal, first reported by Bloomberg, would mean big bucks and lots of new jobs in North Texas. Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. has more than 5,000 employees at its Torrance, California campus.

It's also a big feather in the cap for Gov. Rick Perry's push to lure major companies to Texas.

Toyota isn't commenting about reports of a move, but we should know more about the details on Monday, when the company is set to hold a meeting for employees in Torrance, California, where many are expected to hear they're moving to Texas.

Perry has been working for a year-and-a-half to recruit businesses to make a move to Texas.

"With a superior quality of life, and a business climate that's second to none, Texas is poised at the brink of a new era of prosperity," the governor said in February as he visited with California businesses.

Perry has also been making commercials and launching websites as he crosses the country hoping to lure businesses from other states to ours.

Sources tell Bloomberg News that Toyota is moving "substantial parts of its U.S. headquarters from Torrance, California to suburban Dallas."

Plano officials could not confirm the Toyota reports to News 8 on Sunday night.
