Man in Court for the Seventh Time Facing DWI Charges

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - A man labeled a habitual felony offender was back in court Tuesday facing charges the that earned him that label -- driving while intoxicated.

Richard Vollick has been in court on DWI charges at least seven times. He has spent time in prison twice, and if convicted on the latest charge, he could be going to prison for life.

Vollick's case, however, is one of many similar cases of drivers who have been in and out of prison, or have been on probation multiple times, only to re-offend again; but District Attorney Mark Skurka said time eventually runs out for these habitual offenders.

If found guilty of DWI, Vollick could get 35 years to life in prison.
