Law Enforcement Standoff with Man in Falfurrias Motel Room

FALFURRIAS (Kiii News) - A man barricaded himself inside of a motel room in Falfurrias, prompting local police, the Brooks County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Border Patrol to surround the building.

The standoff began at around 4 p.m. in a motel room at the Antler Inn off of Highway 281. Law enforcement officials said the suspect was sent home from work at that time and, ever since, has refused to leave the room.

At last report, authorities were still surrounding the building, trying to assess the situation. 3News will keep you updated.
