#2 Carroll Readies for Monster Match-up with #1 S.A. O'Connor

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Carroll Tigers are looking to get back to Round Rock after missing out last season, but in order to do it they're going to have to get through the team that took their spot at the state tournament last season.

The second-ranked Tigers will be taking San Antonio O'Connor, ranked just ahead of Carroll at number one. The Panthers won Region IV-5A last season after the Tigers won it the previous three years from 2010 to 2012.

O'Connor comes in to this week's three-game series at 32-1, with their only loss coming to Calallen, who's still alive in the playoffs and ranked number 3 in Class 4A. The Tigers (32-3) know they'll have their hands full, but think their tough non-district schedule will play to their advantage.

The teams will kick off their series Thursday night at 8 p.m. in San Antonio at the SAISD Sports Complex before returning to the area Saturday for Games 2 and potentially 3 in Alice starting at Noon.
