CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - In about 24 hours, thousands of your neighbors will be up before the crack of dawn getting ready to take part in the 39th annual Beach to Bay run.

It's a 26-mile course that takes runners from Padre Island to the Bayfront. Kiii Meteorologist Alan Holt went Live from the Solomon P. Ortiz Center, where many are picking up their packets to participate in Saturday's race.

And a a heads up to drivers -- you should expect some road closures Saturday morning due to the race. The Beach to Bay course is divided into six legs of roughly 4.4-miles each. It begins on the sands of North Padre Island, then through Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi, and ends at McCaughan Park along Shoreline Drive.

The City says motorists should expect delays in and around the area and seek alternate routes if possible. For a complete list of closures, visit www.beachtobayrelay.com.
