Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Corpus Christi Police Department officers manned a checkpoint at the westbound turnaround at Weber and SPID Monday morning looking for drivers who were not wearing their seat belts. Fortunately, officers say the number of drivers without seat belts is down from previous years.

Senior Officer McDonald told 3News that, in the span of an hour, they handed out about nine tickets, fewer than years before. They were also looking for drivers on their cell phones and vehicles with expired stickers.
