Suspect Takes the Stand in Whataburger Manslaughter Trial

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - The man at the center of a high-profile manslaughter trial told jurors Monday that it was not his intention to punch the victim so hard that he would hit his head and die.

31-year old David Alvarez took the stand Monday at the Nueces County Courthouse, answering questions from his own attorney about last June's altercation between him and the 25-year old victim, Aaron Juarez. It happened in the parking lot of the Whataburger at Cimarron and Saratoga.

If found guilty, Alvarez could face up to 20 years in prison.
