Fun, Sun, and Seaweed Greets Visitors this Holiday Weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -      There were a few clouds Saturday, but for the most part it was a great start to Memorial Day weekend. The weather was nice, and that means lots of families from both in and out of town hit the beach. Our Mike Dasilva caught up with a few beach goers. The weather was indeed nice, but one not so nice thing beach goers had to deal with was seaweed. 
    There was tons of it out at JP Luby Beach. The seaweed was a bit of an eyesore, but despite all of the seaweed at the beach, lots of folks still enjoyed themselves. Families coming from near and far to celebrate the weekend with family and friends. Lots of folks waving the flag and celebrating the freedom won by those who have paid the ultimate price serving our country. 
    Cynthia Naranjo told 3 News, "We're celebrating our freedom, and we're very proud of our military members. My father was a veteran and we're very proud. he served Marine Corps and the Army, but most of all we're celebrating our troops now that are serving and giving us our freedom." 
    Lots of folks we spoke with saying they have family and friends who either are currently serving or have served in the military.

    A horrific scene out in Flour Bluff Sunday evening after a man went on a shooting rampage killing three people and wounding a child. It happened just before seven Sunday evening inside the Marina Village RV Park on Sailfish Court and Albacore which is located near NAS Corpus Christi. Police arrested the lone gunman, a 63 year old man. Police have not released his name at this time. He has been taken into custody for Capital Murder. Witnesses identified the shooter to police.
