CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Members of the U.S. Coast Guard rescued three people, including a 10-year old child, from a sinking boat in Nueces Bay Sunday.

An aircrew from Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi was dispatched just after 1 a.m. when they received reports of a boat that would not start and was taking on water. They located the boat floating between two sets of power lines and hoisted the three passengers from their boat. They were taken to Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi.

All three passengers are said to be okay.

The U.S. Coast Guard would like to remind boaters to practice safe boating practices, and contact the Coast Guard on marine VHF channel 16 if you need assistance.
