Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Police say they caught a man red handed as he threw gasoline on a house in the 4900 block of Bayou Street just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Officers had received a call of a subject throwing gasoline on the home. When they arrived, they found 43-year old Alfonso Coronado in the backyard with a gas can and a lighter, splashing the fuel onto the backside of the house.

The 14-year old victim was inside of the house, and told police that Coronado lives nearby and the two of them had been at the house and had an argument. The victim said he was assaulted by Coronado earlier, and that Coronado left after the victim had given him money. Officers also determined that Coronado had made threats to another family member about having them killed.

Coronado was arrested for attempted arson, assaulting the 14-year old, making the threat, and several outstanding warrants.
