CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - The National Champion Flour Bluff NJROTC Drill Team is producing leaders and innovators who know how to give back. One of their former cadets started a college scholarship.

"I said you know what? I'm going to start a scholarship and I'm going to do it and give it to a graduating senior," said Captain Michael Barton M.D., a former Flour Bluff NJROTC student.

Captain Barton is a graduate of the class of '95. He is currently finishing his residency in New Orleans. Barton returned to start a scholarship in the name of the team leader, Commander Armando Solis. This year's scholarship is going to graduating senior, Doug Thompson.
