CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -     We are learning more about the woman who was behind the wheel of a truck that struck a couple in their 50's.  It happened Friday night as the couple was walking down 25th Street.  One of them did not survive and the other remains in critical condition.
The driver, 30 year old Christine Griffin is in jail charged with intoxicated manslaughter. Police say Griffin did not stop to render aid, instead she took off.  She was found around the corner from the accident scene at an apartment complex
Police say she showed signs of being drunk.  The couple who was hit was rushed to the hospital, but the man who is 56 years old did not survive. The woman who was in the wheel chair remains in the hospital in critical condition.
Griffin now faces several charges and her bond is set at $570,000 dollars.  We looked into Griffin's background and found this isn't the first time the 30 year old has been in trouble with the law.  She was arrested back in 2001 for driving drunk. She was convicted of that charge, and sentenced to 180 days in jail.  County records show Griffin also has a theft conviction in 2004 as well as a 2006 robbery conviction.
