Burglary Suspect Makes Off with Safe from Wing Stop Restaurant

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - Corpus Christi police are looking to identify the man suspected of breaking into the Wing Stop restaurant in the Five Points Shopping Center early Sunday morning and stealing a safe containing money.

According to police, it was just before 8 a.m. when officers responded to a burglary call at the restaurant. When they arrived, they found the front glass door broken out and a rear door left wide open.

Surveillance cameras showed a dark colored vehicle pull up in front of the building. A passenger then gets out of the vehicle and smashes out the front door. The suspect then jumps over the counter and goes straight for the safe, which he removes and takes out of the rear door. He then jumps back into the vehicle and flees the scene.

The suspect is described as a man standing about five-foot eight to five-foot 10, weighing about 180-200 pounds with dark hair. The vehicle he was in appears to be an older model dark four-door sedan.

If you have any information that can help police, please call the Corpus Christi Police Department's property crimes detectives at 361-886-2841, or call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
