Man Arrested for Allegedly Punching Woman in Drive-Thru Line

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - A 57-year old man was arrested Monday evening after he allegedly struck a female driver for blocking in his parked car while waiting in line at a drive-thru restaurant.

Police responded to the call at around 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of SPID. When they arrived on scene, they found a 27-year old woman being treated by the Corpus Christi Fire Department's EMS crews. She had serious injuries to her head and face.

The victim told police that she was sitting in the drive-thru line and was blocking in the suspect's vehicle. She said the suspect, 57-year old Robert Thomas, got out of his vehicle and began yelling that his truck was blocked in. He allegedly began banging on her window with his fist, and when she got out of her car, she was struck in the face.

Thomas was placed under arrested for aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, and his truck was impounded by police. The victim was taken to an area hospital by EMS crews.
