Getting Ready for the Fourth of July Big Bang Celebration

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - The City's Fourth of July salute to the founding fathers of our country is set to begin at 7 a.m. Friday with the Corpus Christi Runners' "Four for the 4th" Fun Run, and the day's festivities wrap up at 9:30 p.m. with the annual fireworks show from the deck of the U.S.S. Lexington.

3News wants to let you know what you can and can't do along the Bayfront during the Fourth of July celebration, so Kiii News Reporter Michael Gibson looked into it and went Live from downtown with more.

For more details about this year's Fourth of July Big Bang celebration, visit www.cctexas.com/july4.

Also, if you want to avoid the Fourth of July traffic jam downtown, the Regional Transportation Authority said they will be providing free shuttle service to and from City Hall with stops at Resaca and Shoreline, as well as Leopard and Upper Broadway.

The shuttle will run from 4-10:30 p.m.
